Manufactured by the Spillman Engineering Corporation of North Tonawanda, NY in 1924, the carousel spent nearly 60 years in storage before being “brought home” to Buffalo
in 2016. This menagerie-style carousel is a living tribute to the beautifully crafted carousels of the past and the artisans who built them.

The Buffalo Heritage Carousel honors history while embracing innovation—
with a Tesla solar roof and a home at the historic terminus of the Erie Canal.

The color palette was drawn from the collection of richly detailed animals
that make up the carousel. Typography was chosen to reflect the era of
the carousel’s original creation. All visual elements are unified by a
simple yellow circle, symbolizing the carousel’s unique solar-powered feature.
