While part of the team at Telesco Creative Group, I worked on the rebranding of the
Buffalo Marathon, including the identity mark, environmental graphics, signage, race medals, and apparel.
As is often the case in Buffalo, there was a strong desire to incorporate a buffalo (or bison) into the identity. Rather than create another literal animal mark—common throughout the region—we developed a symbol that subtly suggests a bison while also functioning as a mnemonic "B" for Buffalo.
The Buffalo Marathon Weekend encompasses multiple events, each requiring its own promotional efforts. By avoiding an overly specific or illustrative mark, we created an identity system that could flex across the various races and communications while maintaining
a clear and consistent brand presence.
